Could not connect to Database. A network or instance specific error occurred while establishing a connection to SQL Server.

An SQL error appears after clicking Enable on the OptionPower tab. “Could not connect to Database. A network or instance specific error occurred while establishing a connection to SQL Server.

Cause 1: Something prevented our instance of SQL from starting automatically. 

Solution: Close PowerPoint, click Start, type Services in the search field, click the icon for view local Services, right-click the service SQL Server (OTI_SQL2k5) and click Start, start PowerPoint again.

Cause 2: The version of Office you are running is 64 bit. OptionPower does not support 64 bit versions of Office.

Solution: OptionPower is not compatible with 64 bit versions of Office. Install a 32 bit version.
