This article describes how to manually install the G2 base station hardware drivers that install with OptionPower software.
Problem: G2 Base Station is not showing up in the Windows Device Manager.
If the drivers are installed correctly two things will appear in the Device Manager: under ports the device will be listed as USB Serial Port (COM x) and under USB Serial Bus Controllers the device appears as USB Serial Converter)
Solution: Install the G2 hardware drivers manually.
- In the Device Manager, click on the unrecognized device under and USB Serial Port. Typically, there is a yellow caution symbol indicating the device is not properly recognized. Manually install or update the driver from the folder location at: c:\users\public\public documents\optionpower\drivers\FTDI WHQL G3-G2 Universal Driver x64 - ftdiport
- In the Device Manager, click on the unrecognized USB Serial Bus Controller. Manually install or update the driver from the folder location at: c:\users\public\public documents\optionpower\drivers\FTDI WHQL G3-G2 Universal Driver x64 - ftdibus
