This version requires Office X
“This version requires Office X”, message appears when installing OptionPower even though that version of Office is installed.
Cause: the registry has the incorrect PowerPoint version number information
Solution:
- Click Start
- In the Search field type regedit
- Open the key HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT
- Click PowerPoint.Application
- Click CurVer
- The version information is listed in the right pane. It should be
- PowerPointApplication.15 for Office 2013.
- PowerPointApplication.16 for Office 2016
