Cannot auto-detect G Series USB base station
When you try and auto detect USB base station in OptionPower you get an error no base station found.
- Make sure the laptop is not plugged into a docking station
- Make sure the USB cable is plugged tightly into the computers USB port, also make sure it is plugged into the base station (G2/G3/G4 only)
- Right click my computer, Left click properties, On the right pane left click Device manager. In the device manager look for a yellow sheild with a ! (Other devices)
- Right click (Other devices), select "Update Driver"
- On the first screen select "No Not this time" and click Next.
- On the second screen select "Advanced install" (2nd option) click Next.
- On the thrid screen uncheck "Removable media" and check "Specify location"
- Click the browse button, browse to C:\Program Files\OptionPower\Drivers.
- If your G2 base station is newer then May 2008 or you have a Micro, G3, Micro+, G4 or Micro4 select "FTDI WHQL G3-G2 Universal Driver" folder then click next
- If you have a G2 that is older than May 2008 and you have not updated the firmware select the OptionFinder G2 USB Drivers folder.
- Windows will install the driver.
- You can double check in the device manager by checking under "USB Controllers" for "USB serial Converter". For G2/Micro check under Ports for "USB Serial Port" as well as USB Controllers.
- Start OptionPower, go to Hardware and select "Auto Detect" it should now detect the base station.
