Disable Automatic Driver Updates

Disabling Windows Automatic Updates is sometimes necessary for some hardware platforms. This is how to do it.

Windows 7

1. Click the Start button
2. Type View advanced system settings in the Search field
3. Click the Hardware tab
4. Click Device Installation Settings
5. Click No, let me choose what to do
6. Click Never install driver software from Windows Update
7. Click Save Changes

Windows 8/10

1. Type Change Device on the Start screen
2. Click Settings
3. Change Device Installation
4. Click No, let me choose what to do
5. Click Never install driver software from Windows Update
