OptionPower Installation hangs

While installing OptionPower the install just hangs, may hang for hours or days if left alone.

Cause 1 - Antivirus Blocking

The OptionPower installation installs Drivers into the Windows driver database for Base Stations i.e. G4/G3/Micro Plus, Some Antivirus software detects this driver install and blocks the installer from placing those drivers into the driver database. This can cause the installer to hang without causing any Windows installer errors.

Solution 1: Disable any Antivirus software you have running. Make sure you are logged in as an Administrator.

Once you have verified your antivirus is disabled and you have sufficient rights restart the OptionPower installation. If the install still hangs you will need to contact your tech support personnel as there may be a problem with Windows itself.

Cause 2 - Operating System Issues

Sometimes hidden issues in the operating system can cause the installation of a program to fail.

Solution: This is a last resort due to the time it requires, but some customers have had no problem installing OptionPower after they reinstall their Windows operating system.
